Update: Our friends at CodeRGV.org, with help from Drew Lentz and Michael Wilson, have graciously accepted the roles of co-organizers of the South Texas WordPress Meetup. Michael has already posted a message on the boards looking for folks that would like to participate in the next event.
In the past, I’ve had the privilege of co-organizing The South Texas WordPress Meetup group in the beautiful city of San Juan, Texas.
The City of San Juan, with help from Communications Coordinator, Betsy Gutierrez, has graciously helped by inviting us to use The San Juan Memorial Library to host our events where we’ve been able to gather and share all things WordPress.
The South Texas WordPress Meetup group is a place where anyone can join and participate and, for me, it’s been a rewarding experience.
As of June of last year, however, I haven’t been able to help with organizing any event for the benefit of the community as I’ve been in Oklahoma City.
For that reason, I have posted that we need a co-organizer to step in and help with future events. If you’re interested, you can contact me for more information via Meetup.com or Facebook.com at the links below.
I’m pleased to announce that with the help of the City of San Juan, the WordPress meetups will be held the first Saturday of the June (10AM-2PM) at San Juan Memorial Library. It’s free and open to the general public.

GOOD FAITH RULES
- WordPress Meetups are for the benefit of the WordPress community as a whole, not specific businesses or individuals. All actions taken as an event organizer are with the best interest of the community in mind.
- Membership in the local meetup group is open to all who wish to join, regardless of ability, skill, financial status or any other criteria.
- Meetups are volunteer-run with volunteer speakers. In cases where a modest attendance fee might be necessary, this fee should only cover the costs of the meetup and shouldn’t be used to pay speakers or organizers.
- Meetup groups allow events to be organized by any reliable/trusted member of the community.
- Meetups are welcoming places where everyone works to foster an accepting environment which is free of discrimination, incitement to violence, promotion of hate, and general jerk-like behavior.
